As a part of the 50th-day celebration of the film Malikapuram, the producer of the film, Anto Joseph, has extended helping hands to provide bone marrow transplantation for 50 children from poor families. This is a Punyam Group collaboration with Aster Hospital in Kerala. Other than this, they also provide a 50% reduction in radiation therapy, and special discounts for robotic surgery, ortho and oncology surgeries, and chemotherapy.
On top of these, a special priority card is provided for senior citizens to undergo their treatments smoothly in the hospital. Dr Arun Chandrashekar has been a part of the program. It is the first in India to be conducted as a successful celebration of a film.
Each person’s bone marrow transplant costs between 30 and 50 lakhs. The function was conducted at the Calicut Malabar Palace. The program featured actor Unni Mukundan, Aster MIMS Kerala, and Tamil Nadu Vigilance director Sri. Farhan Yasin, child artist Baby Devnanda, master Sripath, director Vishnu Sasisankar, movie writer Abhilash Pillai, and Dr. K.V. Gangadharan, Head of the Oncology Department at Aster International Institute.
